Wudtr vs Patreon

Both run paid memberships. The gap is in what the headline percentage actually covers, and in what happens to the rest of your business — your content library, your publishing, your links.

What each platform charges

On a single $10.00 sale. Rates published at support.patreon.com, checked August 2026.

Platform Fee You pay You keep
Patreon (10% + processing)10% + 2,9% + $0,30$1,59$8,41
Wudtr Free (10%)10%$1,00$9,00
Wudtr Standard (7%)7%$0,70$9,30
Wudtr Premium (5%)5%$0,50$9,50

Patreon moved every new creator to a single 10% platform fee on 4 August 2025. Creators who had a page before that keep a legacy rate of 5%, 8% or 12%, but only while the page stays published. Payment processing is charged on top of all of them. Rates change — always check the provider before deciding.

Where Patreon is stronger

  • A membership audience that already browses and discovers creators
  • A mature mobile app and a familiar payment flow for existing patrons
  • Simple to start if memberships are the only thing you sell

Where Wudtr is stronger

  • Processing is inside our percentage — Patreon adds 2.9% + $0.30 on every pledge, which bites hardest on small ones
  • On a $3 pledge Patreon’s micropledge processing is 5% + $0.10 on top of the platform fee
  • Memberships sit alongside your content library, social publishing, AI agents and link-in-bio rather than replacing them
  • You can export your members and reach them directly by email, push and SMS

Questions

What does Patreon cost in total?

For creators who joined after 4 August 2025 it is a 10% platform fee plus payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30 per pledge, or 5% + $0.10 on micropledges of $3 or less. Legacy creators may still be on 5%, 8% or 12% plus the same processing.

Is Stripe processing really included with Wudtr?

Yes. The 5-10% is the complete number; Stripe’s cost comes out of our share.

What about small pledges?

That is where the gap is widest. On a $3 pledge, Patreon’s 10% plus 5% + $0.10 processing takes roughly $0.55, about 18%. Our Premium plan takes $0.15.

Can I move my patrons across?

You can export your member list and invite them. Patreon does not transfer active billing, so patrons need to subscribe again on the new tier.
